Paula Huerta Andrés, a sustainability architect and climate activist, founded Bambook Studio to achieve decarbonization through sustainable architecture and design. In a Decade of Action, their sustainability and circular economy projects take meaningful actions to reduce emissions, promote zero waste programs, implement net zero strategies and educate the public about climate change.

On this episode of Climify, Bambook Studio exemplifies Project Drawdown’s solution sector in Net Zero Buildings through low-impact construction, Waste to Value solutions, and Indonesian public-private collaborations to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future.

About our guest

Paula is a Licensed Architect from Spain specializing in Sustainable Design with a Masters's Degree in Energy & Environmental Studies from the University of East London. She is also a LEED AP, BREEAM AP, and GREEN MARK MANAGER.

Paula has a strong background in conceptual design and extensive building experience, have been working as a Sustainability Consultant Internationally for over 15 years, developing sustainable strategies and optimization of building performance, and establishing Sustainability Frameworks and tools development for architectural offices with no experience in Low Carbon Design.

With her company, Bambook Studio, based in Lombok Indonesia, they design NET ZERO sustainable architecture in the region. She is also an Ambassador for Circular Economy and Zero Waste and is currently collaborating with the regional government into bringing Waste to Value solutions to Lombok Island, which is a place starting a huge transformation through massive tourism development.

Paula is also an ambassador for the Circular Economy for which she speaks at conferences as a keynote speaker about the Circular Economy and the role of Sustainable Architecture in the path towards a Low Carbon Future.
