Help shape the next phase of Climate Designers

We’re looking for a few motivated and driven people to help take Climate Designers to the next level

Volunteering at Climate Designers is real work and it comes with real returns. You’ll build and run an actual function within an established global organization, which means the systems, programs, and content you create are yours to claim and speak to.

This is a leaderful organization. Many of our programs were created by community members who came in with a project and a vision. We provided the platform, the infrastructure, and the support to help them bring it to life. You get out what you put in, and if you’re willing to lead, there’s real room to do it.

The connections you make here (with designers, educators, climate professionals, and partner organizations across five continents) are genuine. You’ll have an official title, visibility across our platforms, and a named affiliation with an award-winning organization.

For many of our volunteers, this is also where they get hands-on experience they’re not getting in their day jobs: leading people, shaping strategy, and doing work that sits squarely at the intersection of design and climate. If that’s where you want to go, this is a good place to build toward it.

  • Build something with purpose alongside a team of smart, passionate volunteers

  • Help shape what’s next for Climate Designers as we relaunch our member programs

  • Broaden your professional network with like-minded creatives across the globe

  • Bring your ideas to life on an established platform (we provide the container, you lead the work)

  • Get access to all of our content for free

Open Roles

  • We are seeking team support on newsletter content, curation, and production.

Every month we publish a newsletter that shares upcoming events, both internal and external, opportunities, resources, and inspiration. They are often themed with a leading article on a topic and supporting content throughout. The newsletter is a collective effort and shared space for stories, projects, and inspiration from the team and community. Check out past newsletters.

We are seeking curators deeply immersed in the climate + design ecosystem with a pulse for events and what’s happening across that intersection globally. Curators should have a high level of awareness of how climate + design intersect and the opportunities for change, both at the broad systemic level and by industry. Ideally we’d like to find a team with varied geographic locations and areas of climate focus.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Every month find and curate external events, conferences, and interesting opportunities across the intersection of design and climate

    • Collaborate with contributors to the newsletter and refine content together

We are also interested in finding guest writers at the intersection of climate + design.

In your application, let us know what climate + design subjects you follow closely, and in what regions. If you’re interested in writing, share with us some of what you’ve written and topics you would like to cover.

Time Commitment: 4-6 hours a month. The monthly email goes out the last week of the month, and work to prepare generally starts two weeks prior mid-month.
