New York City is home to tens of thousands of design professionals, and boasts the highest concentration of designers and design agencies of any US metropolitan area. If every single one of them put climate, regeneration, and resilience at the core of their work, what could our community look like? And what precedents could we set for the rest of the world?
We host many kinds of events for anyone interested in the intersection of design and sustainability.
Some examples:
Field trips: from urban farms like Brooklyn Grange, the Bee Conservancy, and GrowNYC's teaching garden; to waste management facilities like the Earth Matter compost site and Balcone's recycling; to exhibitions at MoMA, Poster House, and more.
Community initiatives: clean up a park, or write to your representatives as a group with guidance from local climate experts
Walks and tours: from Gowanus street art to green infrastructure on the High Line
Networking: casual meetups at local breweries and barcades
