Week 7: MAR 2

SKETCH NOTES

Sketch notes should be less dictating and more interpreting.

Really think about what you are absorbing and how it relates to your project or inspires your way of thinking. That is what we should see in your sketches.

Your notes aren’t just for me, but for your group as well.

SN: Crafting Your Narrative

SN: 3 strategies for effectively talking about climate change

SN: Goodbye, Climate Jargon. Hello, Simplicity!

NAILING DOWN YOUR IDEA
Adding to the Mural board you worked on during last week, let's update it with the following;

  • Focus on 1–3 ideas in the HIGH IMPACT and HIGH DOABILITY part of the axis

  • Draft an 8 Word Impact Vision statement for each idea (Statements should include a verb, target, and outcome. Verb is the action, target is who it affects/actors, and outcome is the intended result. Remember, let’s focus on the decision makers, the people in these spaces, less on the everyday person.)

  • Bring it to life. Give it a name, a tagline, create a six frame storyboard showing how it might work/how people might engage with it. These can be rough sketches. make it visual. Consider the elements from Katie's presentation.

If need be, do the above individually, having each person come up with their own ideas within the Mural. I suggest connecting before WED in-person or on Zoom to go over ideas. Combine ideas if need be. Come to class with an idea everyone is happy with and ready to work on.

ASSET JAM
On that same Mural, each person should highlight the following;

  • Skills and talents

  • Networks, connections, and/or resources that are relevant to your solution space or idea

Once we get into Make Stuff mode, teams will need to know who can do what, who knows what, etc.
