Here in the Bay Area, we live at the intersection of some powerful forces — stunning nature, powerful companies, an international population, and extreme inequality to name a few. Among all those forces and more it can sometimes be hard to find your people, especially after years of enduring a global pandemic. We want this chapter to be a place to connect with each other — with those who share some similar values, but also who can broaden our horizons. We want to learn from and alongside each other.

Below are a few core activities we are pursuing here, but this list is not exhaustive. This is your chapter. If you want this chapter to do something that it's not, let's work together to make it happen.

  • In the Bay Area we are truly in a seat of global influence. The companies here wield great power in the world, and they don't always do it responsibly. How can we work to equip each other to help steer those giant ships to a more sustainable existence? What best practices can we share, design, and promote that will truly make a difference at those companies? Given their scale, small actions can make big changes.

  • There are so many talented people in this region. How can we build together, to learn alongside one another and from each other? Speaker series, volunteering, co-creating projects, activism, and community engagement are just some of the ways we'll do this. Who do you want to hear from, to help, to hold accountable?

  • What are some concrete steps we can take to get us from 'Wanting to be a Climate Designer" to truly making a difference with the work we put into the world? Can we work together to craft milestones with each other, hold one another accountable, start companies, make decisions, draft manifestos, and share successes and failures?
